the boathouse

The boathouse is on the southwest shore of Cherry Creek Reservoir, in Cherry Creek State Park, in the suburbs south of Denver, near the confluence of I-25 and I-225 (enter via the West Entrance). Our programs extend from beginning Learn-to-Row through international competitive training. While rowers can use club equipment at any time, the bulk of our rowers launch starting at 5:30 AM, seven days a week, during the rowing season.

the rowing venue

The reservoir at Cherry Creek State Park is over 800 acres. There are stretches of 700m, 1200m, a measured mile, and a 4500m circuit. Conditions vary from flat calm to whitecaps, with wakes from numerous powerboats and jet skiers depending on the day of the week. competitive rowers

There are usually at least a half-dozen local and regional competitions each year that our rowers attend. RMRC members have medalled at US and Canadian Masters Nationals Sprints and Head Races, Pan American Games, and World Rowing Championships. RMRC boats at one time or another have held the course record at the Head Of The Charles regatta. We are excited to host the 5280 head race at our club on October 9, 2022.

Rocky Mountain Rowing Club was formed in 1985 with the primary purpose of fostering national and international rowing competition by developing amateur rowers. The club has evolved into a non-profit, multifaceted organization. It welcomes and encourages masters rowers and adults of all ages and levels of experience who wish to become involved in the sport of rowing.  A Board of Directors elected by the club membership governs the club. Part time coaches work with members to develop rowing skills and techniques with an eye to participation in masters regattas throughout the country and the world. The club relies heavily on members to donate their time to foster rowing, maintain rowing equipment, and administer the club.
