Thanks for your interest in the RMRC 2010 coached programs. Before you commit, please consider the expectations below; they will guide the program for the duration of the year.
Participation in the coached programs is voluntary; if you have concerns about any expectations listed below, please contact me before we begin.
What I expect from athletes:
1) Coaches will boat athletes for both practice and races. You are expected to be willing to row with anyone else in the program.
2) In the advanced program, athletes will be expected to be comfortable rowing a 1X (either a racing hull or a training shell).
In the intermediate program, athletes will be expected to be willing to learn to row in the 1X.
3) Athletes are responsible for being in the "right place" at the right time. Coaches will not wait for stragglers either on the dock or at any pre-designated on-the-water meeting place.
4) If your line-up doesn't show, the won't boat row.
5) There will be a "zero tolerance" policy for "he said/she said/he did/she did". I expect that everyone wants to row and wants to improve.
What the athletes can expect from me:
1) Equal attention (over the course of a week) at practice.
2) Availability to answer questions/provide explanations via email or telephone.
3) Pre-determined line-ups and workouts as often as possible.
Be advised there will be launch, equipment, weather issues throughout the season. We will do our best to avoid these, but they will happen.
